Good bye LogmeIn – Hello Chrome Remote Desktop

For anyone using Logmein Free, you probably just got an email about how Logmein will no longer be free anymore.  Personally, I had an account with a few computer on it and, while it’s a great tool, I don’t use it enough to want to spend money on it.  Enter Chrome Remote Desktop.  Chrome Remote Desktop is easy to setup and available on Windows and Mac (sorry no linux support yet).    If you like remote access to your computers and have the Chrome browser installed, check out the Remote Desktop tool.  It’s not as feature rich as Logmein, but it lets you get to all of your programs and files when needed.

There are other alternatives like TeamViewer and VNC, but VNC requires more initial setup and TeamViewer has commercial  license restrictions that most people don’t want to deal with, although for personal use it’s great.
